An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen to join our Embroidery department at our Elgin headquarter as a Team Leader.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Finished Products, the role is a “hands on” working position undertaking duties relating to all aspects of Embroidery ensuring –


  • Contribute to the broader operational leadership team to support the delivery of the overall business plan
  • Work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to introduce any changes required
  • Oversee workflow, designating tasks to team and ensuring priorities are followed


  • Deliver OTIF against the daily and weekly plan.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and communicating these with your team via weekly team board sessions, making improvements when necessary
  • Liaising with internal departments on a range of topics for example, planning requirements, design for development
  • Carrying out personal development reviews, return to work and managing attendance interviews
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and problem solving opportunities
  • Dealing with minor capability or conduct issues within the department, involving HR and department manager when needed
  • Attending interviews, making decisions on hiring new staff members, and leading department onboarding and training
  • Assessing employee competency and encouraging professional development and learning and development opportunities
  • Ensuring work stations are manned to deliver the production plan, reorganising cover for absence or increase in demand
  • Motivating the team and promoting culture

Health & Safety

  • Manage your teams HS&E to ensure all necessary risk assessments are in place and are suitable and sufficient.
  • Ensure all your team are suitably trained to the right level of H&S competency.
  • Working with your team implement plans to achieve zero injuries. 


  • Train and develop your team in the necessary competencies to meet business needs and optimise flexibility.
  • Provide leadership in living the companies values.
  • Provide regular communication to your team keeping them fully engaged with team and business performance

This is a full time, temporary post until July 2025 working Monday to Thursday 0700-1600 and Friday 0700-1200 (39 hours per week).

Rate of pay is starting from £13.17 per hour, dependant on experience.

Interviews will be held week commencing 27th May 2024.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in textiles or as a team lead in a similar industry
  • Be adaptable and willing to learn new skills
  • Confident communicator, verbally and written
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Able to work independently and be able to take the initiative in problem solving
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and with ability to prioritise a busy workload
