An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finishing management team as a Supervisor.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finishing management team as a Supervisor. Alongside other members of the team, you will follow a “right first time” approach to meet department and company goals and support your team.

About the Role

You will help run day to day operations in the department with key tasks including –

  • Overseeing workflow, designating tasks to team leads and ensuring priority lists are followed
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and communicating these with your team via weekly team board sessions, making improvements when necessary
  • Liaising with internal departments on a range of topics for example, planning requirements, design for sampling
  • Carrying out personal development reviews, return to work and managing attendance interviews
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and problem solving opportunities
  • Dealing with minor capability or conduct issues within the department, involving HR and department manager when needed
  • Attending interviews, making decisions on hiring new staff members, and leading department onboarding and training
  • Assessing employee competency and encouraging professional development and learning and development opportunities
  • Ensuring work stations are manned to deliver the production plan, reorganising cover for absence or increase in demand
  • Motivating the team and promoting culture

This is a permanent, full time position, working 39 hours a week on a dayshift.

Salary will be starting from £24,500 (dependent on experience).

About You

You will be

  • A finishing “technical expert”, or have experience working in a similar role in a mill environment
  • Experienced leading a team in a supervisory or team lead position
  • A strong communicator, both verbally and written, with your team, other departments and external parties
  • Able to motivate, encourage and improve yourself and your team, keeping a positive attitude and level head
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
