About the Role:               Driving Health & Safety performance and ensuring legal compliance, while promoting a positive Health & Safety culture company wide.

This is a permanent role, working 39 hours a week (Monday to Thursday 7am – 4pm and Friday 7am  - 12pm) from our Elgin site. Salary is starting from £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the existing Safety management system to meet site-specific needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Offer specialised expertise and support in Health & Safety to site personnel
  • Collaborate with other sites to exchange best practices, and achieve the Company’s Health & Safety Policy objectives
  • Assist in creating systems that encourage personal ownership of Safety
  • Conduct Hazard and Operability Studies on critical processes and all new investments/significant changes
  • Act as the owner of the Health & Safety Committee, providing clear direction for leaders
  • Continuously develop the Health and Safety plan
  • Advise and actively support the Elgin site in all legislative H&S matters
  • Provide statistical reporting of H&S performance metrics to the site and relevant business leaders, identifying any trends and proposed corrective actions
  • Identify and assess business risks and propose effective processes and controls to manage those risks to an acceptable level
  • Monitor site works from a H&S perspective ensuring adherence to internal procedures at all times including (but not limited to) Permit to Work, Control of Contractors, Risk Assessment, Emergency Response, Management of Change, Incident Investigation, delivery of Projects/CDM etc
  • Deliver H&S training (regulatory and awareness) in conjunction with training identified in the Competency Framework
  • Drive continual improvement within the Health & Safety Framework/Combined Management System
  • Co- ordinate the work of external regulators, auditors and/or third-party consultants governing effective and timely closure of any actions
  • Agree H&S -related actions locally and with business leaders as appropriate and support/govern effective and timely closure
  • Contribute and participate in the operational meetings and take an active part in problem solving activities
  • Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues and apply learnings from identified training and development activities required to perform in role
  • Maintaining certification company certification for ISO45001 and 14001

About You

  • Have a proven track record in Health, Safety and environmental Management Role
  • A recognised H&S qualification such as NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Ability to build relationships with people in all levels of the business
  • Strong influencer
  • Experience in ISO45001 and 14001 certifications is desirable
