We are growing our permanent night shift in our Purling, Darning and Dry Finishing departments.

We are growing our permanent night shift in our Purling, Darning and Dry Finishing departments.

Purling involves hand and foot co-ordination to operate machinery to twist the fringes of woven fabric at the ends of our luxury rugs and scarves.  It's an essential part of the process and vital that it is done well. 

Darning involves using fine hand skills and needlework to repair any faults made in the cloth during production.

Dry Finishing involves product inspection, cutting, measuring, folding and hand sewing labels on to products.

Full training and the opportunity to undertake our Modern Apprenticeship are available for both positions.

About you

You will have:

  • Excellent co-ordination
  • An eye for detail, particularly in regard to quality
  • The ability to follow written instructions
  • Good colour vision

Previous experience working night shift would be beneficial but not necessary.

Two shifts are available:

Purling and Darning - Sunday 8pm - 6am and Monday to Thursday 12am - 6am (34 hours per week)

Dry Finishing - Monday to Wednesday 8pm - 6am and Thursday 8pm - 5am for 2 weeks and Sunday to Tuesday 8pm - 6am and Wednesday 8pm - 5am every 3rd week (39 hours per week).

Rate of pay is starting from £10.90 per hour plus shift allowance.
