About the Role

  • running a set of looms efficiently
  • repairing broken warp and weft threads in a timely manner
  • keeping the weft creels replenished with yarn
  • monitoring the looms for weaving defects, checking for evenness of colour and pattern
  • reporting any defects/loom problems to the technicians

Once the initial training period is complete, there is an opportunity to enrol in our SQA accreditation SVQ in Manufacturing Textile Products Modern Apprenticeship.

Once fully trained the successful candidate will run multiple looms.

Shifts will be worked on a 3 shift rotation, averaging 39 hours a week. Shifts are as follows:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 0600 to 1400 and Friday 0600 to 1700

Week 2 - Sunday 2000 to 0600 and Monday to Thursday 2200 to 0600

Week 3 - Monday to Thursday 1400 to 2200
