Graduate Designer

About the Role

As a Graduate Designer you are creative and imaginative with a willingness for the continuous learning and technical understanding of the weaving process to join our highly experienced team.

 You have effective communication and have a collaborative and committed approach to assisting and supporting the design team to understand their needs, build on ideas and refining designs based on feedback.

You will have some technical awareness that will contribute to the creation of original and striking fabrics that explore structure, pattern, texture, and colour.

This is a full time, temporary position for 15 months working 38 hours per week. Flexibility to travel both in the UK and abroad will be required.

The starting salary for this position is £24,897.60 per annum dependant on experience.

Key duties include:

• Continuously look to grow your levels of innovation, researching products and building upon ideas.
• Understanding individual clients needs and responding to their briefs quickly and creatively whilst taking direction from the team around you.
• Assisting with the development of new products from the early design stages through to industrialisation whilst assessing commerciality.
• To follow critical paths and hit deadlines whilst working in a busy design department.

This is what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

• Required Qualification: BA (Hons) Textile Design specialising in Weave 
• To be able to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and salesperson to guide in the product/design development process.

• As a team player you will be highly motivated and have a flexible and determined approach to any challenges presented to you.
• The ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced Design Department.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Woven CAD software.
