Overview
We are looking for a Planning Co-ordinator to join our team to support the operations team through planning and scheduling of the Dye and Yarn manufacturing processes, to ensure all products are running on time and in full.

We are currently looking for a Planning Co-ordinator (Dye and Yarn) to join our Planning department on a full time, permanent basis.


About the Role

Your role will be to support the operations team through planning and scheduling of the Dye and Yarn manufacturing processes, to ensure all products are running on time and in full. You would work very closely with these production areas as well as the other planners to ensure internal production capacities are fully understood and that available capacity is fully utilised in the most optimal way.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Work with supply planners to capture accurate dyeing and yarn manufacturing lead times within the master planning schedules.
  • Understanding and working around internal and external supply parameters and constraints that impact the dyeing and yarn supply plans.

Scheduling

  • Analyse demand requirements and process work orders for production.
  • Calculate start dates and into stock dates.
  • Create efficient production work schedules for dyeing and yarn manufacturing.
  • Update schedules and work orders in line with order changes and customer cancellations.
  • Ensure yarn is delivered into stock on time by expediting and progress chasing where necessary.
  • Complete daily updates of production progress, providing quick response to production issues.
  • Coordinate with Dyehouse Lab, Dyehouse and Yarn Manufacturing to support on time order completion.
  • Attend productions meetings.
  • Manage yarn BOMs 
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure production build requirements are always available.
  • Liaise with the fibre and yarn purchasing teams to support on time delivery of yarn into stock.

Operational Efficiency and Reporting

  • Support continuous improvement, developing and building on existing processes to improve production flow, on time starts, and inventory accuracy.
  • Identify any upcoming material issues and works closely with the relevant members of the team to offer solutions to these issues.
  • Proactive expediting of requirements to maximize stock availability of key material requirements.
  • Generate and update daily/weekly reporting and identify trends requiring action.
  • Develop and interpret reports to monitor and deliver improvements.
  • Identify and implement areas for systems improvements.

This is a full time, permanent position working 38 hours per week, 0700-1600 Monday to Thursday and 0700-1100 Friday.

Rate of pay starting from £24,897 per annum, dependant on experience.

Experience

Essential

  • Be able to work effectively with high levels of autonomy.
  • Analytical approach to work and experience with identifying areas for improvement.
  • Competencies with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power Point etc),
  • Have excellent communication skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of woven textile finishing processes.
  • Familiarity with production planning or manufacturing planning.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirement Planning (MRP) or Supply Chain Planning systems.
